Family at the Center Initiative
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.” Ps. 112:1-3
In our continuous effort to foster a vibrant Catholic community, we are immersed in a program that places families at the heart of our community. We believe that faith is a journey best undertaken as a family, and our Catholic parish serves to support and guide that journey. Our Staff, Catechists, and volunteers understand that the family is the first community and the most basic way in which God gathers us, forms us, and acts in the world.
Our commitments to Family at the Center include:
- Parish-hosted informal gatherings to inspire conversation and fellowship.
- Providing guided and self-directed curriculums for intergenerational family faith formation.
- Celebrating our Liturgy/Liturgical Seasons with attention to the Family.
Youth Faith Formation/Youth Ministry
“Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16 And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them. Mk.10:14-15
St. Veronica offers a vibrant Youth Ministry and Faith Formation program. It provides a safe, welcoming environment where youth can explore their faith, ask questions, and grow closer to God. This ministry is centered on the experiential aspect of Youth Faith Formation by providing:
- Retreats,
- Service experiences for proximate and greater communities,
- Peer gatherings which foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Off-Campus experiences
This formation is vital to the Parish Community. It ensures the continuity of faith, instilling values of love, service, community, and Discipleship in the next generation. The energy and perspectives of the youth enrich the parish, making it a dynamic, evolving community. Thus, investing in youth is investing in the future of the Church.
Tech and Communications Ministry:
“Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Mt 28:19”
The Communications mission is one of evangelization and is dedicated to helping our ministries and parishioners to deliver the ‘Good News’ to our parish and the wider community. Communications Ministry works to help bring people closer to Christ. The ministry handles graphic, written, and electronic communication for our community, with the help of several parishioners who are gifted in writing, design, photography, and articulating ideas.
This ministry is committed to:
- Web and Social Media
The first focus of the ministry is maintaining and updating the Parish website, as well as the different social media accounts the Parish holds, such as Facebook
- Parish Bulletin
The Parish bulletin constitutes a part of the ministry. The bulletin’s regular publication informs and aids the entire community of St. Veronica.

Young Adult Outreach
Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to him, “Rabbi “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and see.” Jn.1:38
This ministry’s mission is to help one another participate in Christ’s mission. It serves young adult Catholics, who seek to be effective disciples, evangelists, and agents of charity. Young Adult Outreach provides:
- Social opportunities sensitive to our Catholic beliefs.
- Intellectually charged gatherings.
- Service experiences and charitable agency networks
- Spiritual opportunities for growth.
Members range in age from 21-39 years old
Adult Faith Formation
But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. 2Pt.3:18
The Adult Faith Formation experiences at St. Veronica Parish are constituted to serve three major goals:
- To invite and enable ongoing conversion to Jesus in holiness.
- To promote and support active membership in the Christian Community.
- To call and prepare adults to act as disciples in mission to the world.
Accordingly, faith formation seeks to help each adult believer become more willing and able to be a Christian disciple in the world. As salt of the earth and light for the world (cf. Mt 5:13-16), adult disciples give witness to God’s love and caring will so that, in the power of the Spirit, they renew the face of the earth.
To be effective ministers of adult faith formation we will first, like Jesus, join people in their daily concerns and walk side by side with them on the pathway of life. We will engage in conversation, asking questions and listening attentively as they share their joys, hopes, griefs, and anxieties
RCIA
The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. Mt. 13:31-32
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (or RCIA) is a process of growth and discernment regarding the Catholic Church and a person’s free choice to become a member. Throughout this journey, candidates engage in the study of Catholic beliefs, traditions, customs, and prayer. Through discussion, and discernment the catechumenate experiences the sublime gift of God’s revelation. At the conclusion of this instruction and based on one’s preparedness, the Catechumenate is ready to join the Church. Through the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), participants become full members of the Catholic faith.
Who is the RCIA for?
- Those who have not received the sacrament of Baptism.
- Those who have been baptized in another Christian Faith and are considering becoming Catholic and receiving their First Communion and Confirmation.
- Those who are Catholic and have been baptized but have not received any instruction in preparing for First Communion and Confirmation and wish to do so.
